WIN KNOWSLEY HALL FESTIVAL TICKETS!

We have two pairs to give away!

On Sunday 24th June, Keane are headlining the second day of the first ever Knowsley Hall Music Festival in the grounds of Knowsley Hall, near Liverpool. You can get all the line-up and ticket info by visiting knowsleyhallmusicfestival.co.uk.

We've managed to get hold of two pairs of weekend tickets to give away to the Keane online massive. If you'd like to win, simply answer the following question:

Q. Keane are from a town called Battle. But what county (not country) is that town called Battle in?

Email your answer, your name and a contact number to competitions@keanemusic.com before 12noon (UK time) on Thursday May 17th. Two winners will each win a pair of standard weekend tickets to the festival. One entry per person (and we're really quite strict about that). May the competition force be with you!

USA BLOG #1
The first chapter of the American blog

Yes, Keane are back on tour again, which means it's time for more blog action (and before any Canadians email - it'll be called Canada Blog when they're there!). This first entry, from the inimitable Mr Ian Faith, comes direct from the band's rehearsal studio in LA...

Hello everyone. It was very hot today in Los Angeles. The band rehearsed their cover of the Genesis song 'That's All', which they will play at the VH1 Rock Honours show in Las Vegas on Saturday. For some reason, thinking about Genesis inspired this collection of pictures of pairs of things from the rehearsal studio. Bright, '80s pop colours I suppose. Hopefully there will be some interesting pairs of things in Vegas as well.
Ian

Sorry for we can post so we put the original posts of KM.COM and in other day we publish here the tickets of Keane in Oporto and more details of it!

The news are:

Photos from Mexico

Fans' shots from the three Mexican gigs

Hello again. Here are the last of the pictures from the Latin American tour which you guys emailed in to us. Thanks very much to everyone who sent in their pics, reports and greetings during the tour, we enjoyed reading them back here at Keane HQ. We're told that it's a lot harder to get a camera into a gig over there, so many of the pics were taken on mobile phones, which makes them even more impressive.

In other news, thanks to all of you who responded to Rob's blogs by a) offering suggestions on how to clean lino and b) offering to go on a date with ASBO. It would take the lad several years to travel across the world visiting all of his potential beaus (at least two of whom admitted to being married...)

Anyway, onto the pictures from Mexico. We're not exactly sure where this first one was taken, but it shows Tom with a Mexican national football shirt (if only he'd held it a little more to his left it would've looked like he was embracing a man with no head).

Beth sends her final blog of the tour

Hi again,

Just a quick note now we are home from our South American travels. What a great trip it's been for everyone.

I'd just like to say on behalf of all of us, a big thank you to all the fans we met along the way. The band were overwhelmed by your kindness and all the gifts they received.

We truly hope to be able to visit those amazing places again in the future, but in the meantime we start emptying and repacking our bags for our American tour.

Take care y'all.

Beth.

Ps. Look out for a final blog from Rob, with more photos. He's clearly a much better photographer than I am so I'll leave the picture duties to him in the future! Cheerio......

*El Blog 16*

Keane's tech chap Rob writes the final chapter of El Blog

Hello again from the lovely warm jet lag fug of springtime London. It's good to be home.

We were all suffering a bit from tiredness and a spot of the dreaded Montezuma's revenge (note to venue caterers in Guadalajara; try covering the food up - just a little) which made for a bit of a long day at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. (That's my way of apologising for the pictures not being quite up to scratch, by the way.)

It may sound a bit of a cliché but the fantastic 10,000 sell out crowd made it all worthwhile. It was quite a reception and the band were visibly stunned.

That crowd in full between songs. Note the toy cat that belonged to Al Artingstall (our extremely dapper old monitor sound engineer and top singer-songwriter) in his new home on my console.

Piano's eye view of the sea of phones, lighters, torches and who knows what being waved during 'Hamburg Song'.

For once the British Airways schedule did us a favour. We couldn't fly out until two days after the show which gave us plenty of time to explore Mexico City (far better than the last time we were there and had to get on a plane at 6am the next day).

On Sunday the whole band and those crew members who could tear themselves away from their hotel bathrooms (an outbreak of the dreaded man flu had added to our medical troubles) went on a trip to the Pyramids at Teotihuacán - organised by the band's super efficient PA Beth (swot up
here - on the pyramids, not Beth).

Being a roadie can be a pretty difficult life, long hours, filthy showers, smelly busses (imagine all the smells ever, condensed into a bus-shaped space), being away from home for months at a time and dealing with rock star egos... but the perks, when they come, can be pretty fantastic and the day at the pyramids was one of the best.

The day was made special by our guide "Gorilla" whose ancestral knowledge and well-honed gags really made the place come alive.

A particular highlight was being taken under one of the pyramids for a fire ceremony (following in the footsteps of the mighty Bon Jovi, or so we were told - any spiritual hokum that's ok with the 'Jovi is a-ok with us as well). Beth was given a red headband and had to receive the fire on behalf of 'all her brothers' (which means us, I think - poor her) and rewarded with a traditional native name (which I can't remember - but it's something like saltbeefsweetpetal).

We finished off by climbing the massive Pyramid of the Sun (246ft high, 3rd highest in the world, fact fans). Well some of us did; Tom decided against it as it was (a) extremely steep and (b) he was wearing flip flops. Tim went for crisps before attempting the climb, which was extremely sensible.

I'll make the Oscars bit as short as I can. We had a great time in Latin America and hopefully managed to bring our usual high production values to all the shows; the memories of the people we met and the places we saw will stay for a long time. I'd like to extend massive thanks to my team: crew chief Soline, lighting and balloon tech Tim and of course long suffering video genius ASBO as well as all the local suppliers (especially the ones who realised that when we spec a lighting rig we expect it to work).

Rob

Tom, Tony, Tim and Beth await the fire.

Tim's very glad he's not been given a headband.

Gorilla and Beth await the battle of the Springsteen tribute bands.

Crowds climbing the pyramid. Have some 'Where's Waldo' fun and see if you can spot Tim.

Richard at the top of the Pyramid of the Sun.

We have just received this official statement from the organisers of the Freedom Rock gig in Hull, which Keane were to play at on June 9th.

It is with great regret that Freewill Events has been forced to cancel the Freedom Rocks Festival due to delays, centering on funding, which have affected the cash flow and marketing of the event.

Ticket holders will receive a full refund from point of purchase.

Freewill Events would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the event and encourage people to continue to support the campaign to end modern day slavery.
